SoleCrypt has signed a consultancy agreement with GOPA Tech GmbH, a leading international engineering advisor in power systems and renewable energy. Under this agreement, GOPA Tech will support the development of SoleCrypt’s first utility-scale solar PV and battery storage project in Tozeur, Tunisia.
The mandate covers the technical specifications, design review, and preparation of a full EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) tender package for the 60 MW Tozeur T60 project. Working closely with SoleCrypt, GOPA Tech will define performance requirements, grid-connection criteria, and battery integration standards to ensure a highly reliable plant optimised for data-centre and industrial loads.
The project is being developed under Tunisia’s auto-production regime and is designed to supply clean power to data centres and industrial offtakers in the south of the country. By combining GOPA Tech’s experience in large-scale renewable projects with SoleCrypt’s focus on clean power and digital infrastructure, the partnership aims to deliver bankable, investment-grade documentation that meets the expectations of international contractors, lenders, and long-term asset owners.
A key outcome of the assignment is a transparent, competitive EPC procurement process capable of attracting top-tier bidders. This includes clear technical criteria, robust risk allocation and well-defined interfaces between the solar, battery storage and grid-connection scopes.
As Tunisia accelerates its energy transition, this collaboration is about building the technical foundations for scalable renewable assets in Tozeur. SoleCrypt is grateful to the entire GOPA Tech team for their trust and partnership and looks forward to working together to help deliver Tunisia’s renewable energy ambitions.
